HISTORY

ZaZa Gardens is a city-recognized historic complex located blocks from downtown San Antonio and filled with the heritage of our unique city. Originally the Nauwald Warehouse, the building was built in the late 1880’s and operated as a German owned pickling factory and later as the shop for a furniture maker after the turn of the century. Saved from demolition by the extensive renovations of the current owner the complex has a new life as a refined industrial setting for elegant and intimate gatherings.

Features

The venue offers many features to make your event truly special. A warm reception space is richly textured by the original pine floors and exposed trusses and intimately seats parties of 50 to 200 with room for dancing. When you first arrive you are greeted by a light filled entry with soaring ceilings that draw your eye to the interplay of original craftsmanship with modern architectural influences. Large windows and doors in our main space open unto our lush North garden to encourage guests to flow into the outdoor spaces. A dramatic garden wall creates a visual separation between courtyards and again encourages visitors to explore the romantic grounds. Our large East courtyard recalls the traditional plaza of times past and can host festive outdoor activities of more than 300 people under the full shade of our mature sycamores.
